Esperanza School is currently seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals to join our team.

As part of our non-profit organization, Esperanza Therapeutic Day School provides individualized instruction for students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities.


As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will assist the Special Education Teacher and Behavior Therapists in instruction for children with developmental disabilities in the classroom.

Your role will be dedicated to facilitating communication, increasing social skills, academic skills, self-help skills, and promoting independence among our students.

You will work closely with the teacher and behavior therapist to help students decrease maladaptive behaviors that hinder their development while systematically increasing socially appropriate behaviors.


Requirements:


  • Must be able to fulfill the ISBE requirements for the paraprofessional license within the first 75 days of employment.
  • Passion for working with students with special needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience in special education or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.

Requirements:
ISBE Paraprofessional or Sub Certificate

From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
