Canon currently has an opening for a
HR Database Administrator
This role will be based at our Corporate Office (261 Madison Ave) in New York City.

You will be required to be in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Canon Business Process Services ("Canon") provides on-site services for hundreds of clients across the United States, spanning document services, business process outsourcing and managed workforce solutions.


OVERVIEW:


The HR Database Administrator will be responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of the human resources information systems (HRIS), human capital management (HCM) solution, and SQL databases for the HR department.

This role will ensure internal processes are well-documented, data is stored according to best practices, and database performance is regularly updated and maintained.

The Database Administrator will develop regular and ad-hoc reports and procedures to ensure data reporting meets the needs of the HR department and stakeholders.

This role will manage the HR database, data reporting, and workflows, and maintain comprehensive process documentation.

The Database Administrator will develop effective solutions after evaluating database design and requirements and collaborate with IT as needed to troubleshoot issues.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluates, analyzes, designs, and maintains the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)

Generates ad hoc management reports through various databases and reports which may involve downloading information into Microsoft Access for detailed analysis.

Responsible for system administration of our HCM solution, SuccessFactors (SF), working closely with SF technical staff to make system enhancements and modifications.

Includes maintenance, testing, and execution of Compensation-related processes (Merit, Off-Cycle and Annual Performance templates), and queries to upload Off-Cycle transactions to AS400/Infinium.

Responsible for the ongoing development, upgrade, and data integrity of the HRIS and HCM systems
Manages SQL databases for HR department, writes and maintains SQL queries and functions
Installs updates, manages database releases, and conducts performance testing of the HRIS and SQL database system
Ensures that databases follow standard operating procedures and industry best practices
Ensures that database procedures are fully documented along with all definitions and processes
Creates and configures users and permissions to SQL databases
Collaborates with IT team members to troubleshoot database issues and provide maintenance
Responds to team member queries and data requirements to create and improve databases and develop custom reporting
Research and tests improvements to database functionality and efficiency
Works closely with HRIS team to establish new systems and identify new software products to support future corporate objectives and strategies as well as current needs
Develops and conducts in-house HRIS training programs for end-users
Works on special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed


PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:


  • Significant portion of time spent in front of computer screen, prolonged sitting at desk

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To be eligible for this position, the applicant must meet the minimum qualifications. Deviations to this requirement must be approved by the Compensation Manager or Vice President of Human Resources.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree, Computer Science or similar field preferred


EXPERIENCE NECESSARY:


  • At least 1+ year experience of programming/data visualization
  • At least 1+ year experience using SQL to write queries
  • At least 1+ year experience of Database Management
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with HRIS Software Applications

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Knowledge of Programming & Data Visualization including SQL, PL/SQL databases
  • Additional programming knowledge preferred (Oracle, Python, R, Tableau)
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing & Statistical Analysis Tools (eg, SAP, SPSS, STATA, SAS)
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning & Statistical Modeling processes including Linear Regressions, Logistic Regressions, and Decision Trees
  • Additional technical knowledge such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) a plus

COMPUTER SKILLS:


  • Strong technical computer skills in SQL database management and data visualization
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Pay:
$75, $85,000.00 per year
