Housekeeping Services

Culpepper Garden is a thriving community of seniors located in the heart of Arlington. This position is Part-Time and is responsible for the janitorial duties in our 73 unit Assisted Living buildings. The position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor and the Assistant Director of Plant Operations. Potential for position to transition to Full-Time with good performance.

We serve our seniors and believe in the mission and work of providing an happy and health resident experience. Our team works together to accomplish this goal every day with positive resident interactions and communications.

Staff must be able to understand and communicate with residents in order to report or escalate any issues to Assisted Living staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all common areas of the Assisted Living building. Previous experience working with seniors is preferred. Professional and customer service oriented personality a must have.

Specifically, (in the public areas) the Housekeeper:

• Cleans all public area stairways, restrooms, lobbies, offices, halls, laundry rooms and building entrances on a daily basis.
• Cleans office windows and other glassed areas on a daily basis.
• Dusts and damp wipes all washers and dryers daily. The lint traps must be checked and cleaned daily and soapboxes and other trash is to be removed daily.
• Dusts all light fixtures, including high hanging globes and wall-mounted globes on a weekly basis. Insects, etc., should be removed once a month.
• Cleans mailbox fronts, public walls and halls once a month or more frequently if necessary.
• Observes and protects residents' rights including rights to confidentiality, privacy and dignity.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and to bend, crawl, stoop, push, and lift in order to deliver care and services as needed.
• Practices safety procedures and complies with established reporting of accidents and injuries. Keeps chemicals and cleaning agents secure at all times.
• Will be required to cover other housekeeping shifts and responsibilities during vacation and absences.

Performs any other related duties that may be assigned.
