Description

Our client, a leading provider of systems and components for the aerospace and defense industries, is in search of a skilled Program Manager to join their team in Santa Barbara.

As a Program Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all stages of the product lifecycle, from initial proposal and design to final production and deployment. Your responsibilities will include managing programs, ensuring compliance with contract terms, engaging with industry and USG customers, and contributing to new business proposals. You'll be tasked with driving performance, closely monitoring costs and schedules, and providing regular program updates to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to contract requirements and effectively oversee all program activities.
Achieve program goals within specified scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
Lead proposal teams and support business expansion efforts to enrich the organization's portfolio.
Create and oversee detailed program plans and schedules, harmonizing all program components.
Monitor program expenses, schedules, task completions, and deliveries, implementing corrective measures when needed.
Resolve challenges through clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Leverage project management principles and processes to elevate program performance.

Key Requirements:

Holder of a Bachelor's degree in business management or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred).
More than 5 years of experience in program management within the aerospace and defense sector.
Proven track record in steering large-scale, hardware-focused programs.
Familiarity with quality and material control systems in relevant industry settings.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated strong organizational and leadership qualities.
Proficiency in formal project management methodologies and tools.
Ability to secure a US security clearance as part of the role.
Experience with Earned Value Management systems.
