Position Title:
Director of Institutional Giving
Reports To:
Senior Vice President of External Affairs
Principal Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:Lead a comprehensive, multi-year institutional strategy that positions the organization in growing the annual budget of $12M.

Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with institutional funders, including foundations, government entities, and corporations.

Prospect Identification:Identify and evaluate potential institutional partners and grant opportunities to align with the Mission Society's mission and goals.

Narrative Development:Research and draft Letters of Intent (LOIs), proposals, and reports in collaboration with program staff, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic objectives.

Communication and Correspondence:Maintain regular communication with key funding representatives, support strategic funder outreach, and manage ongoing correspondence.

Data Management: Implement and maintain systems to track all corporate, government, and foundation donor activities, including grant submission deadlines, communications, and acknowledgments.

Event Planning: Assist in the planning of special events designed for corporate and foundation program officers to enhance engagement and partnership opportunities.

Collaborative Stewardship: Work collaboratively with the entire fundraising team to develop and execute strategic stewardship plans for institutional donors.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Mission Society staff to team members to shape programs that appeal to funders and support organizational goals and our central mission.
- Adaptability: Perform all other duties as required in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Qualifications:

Passion for Mission: Demonstrated passion for education equality, youth development, and the overarching goal of ending poverty.

Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of professional development experience, with demonstrated experience in researching and writing successful proposals.

Creativity: A flair for creative thinking, particularly applied to fundraising opportunities.

Database Management: Experience with prospect research and the ability to set up, manage, and track foundation giving and deadlines through a database.

Communication Skills: Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential.

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete projects successfully as planned.

Technical Skills: Excellent computer skills; familiarity with EveryAction is a plus.

Team Player: Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
General Requirements:
All staff are expected to be committed to the mission, vision, and values of Mission Society.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range is $110,100-$119,000 based on experience, qualifications and fit.
