Position Highlights:

  • Sign on bonus: 10K for nights
  • Position: Registered Nurse 7 East Cardiac Telemetry
  • Location: Chicago, IL
  • Full Time
  • Hours: Nights (7p7:30a); every other weekend required; rotating holidays
  • Required Travel: None

What you will need:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Current Illinois Nursing Licensure
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements

General Summary:

Registered Nurse plays a key role in providing top-notch, personalized nursing care to patients and their families, following the Nursing Division's mission, vision, and philosophy.


Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates dedication to the mission of Swedish Hospital and shows a service-oriented mindset.
  • Uses the nursing process effectively for patient care.
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest standards of practice.
  • Contributes to the professional growth of peers.
  • Integrates ethical standards and evidence-based practice into daily nursing tasks.
  • Enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Emphasizes safety to prevent injuries.
  • Ensures accurate patient identification and proper equipment functionality.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and acts promptly in emergencies.
  • Completes documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.

Patient Care/Age Specific Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Specialized Staff Nurses have a deep understanding of procedures tailored to the needs of specific patient populations, including age-specific requirements.


Management Responsibility:

  • Participation in committees.

Internal and External Contacts:

  • Interaction with patients, families, Division of Nursing staff, Medical Staff, and other hospital personnel.

Access to Protected Health Information:

Access to the computer system is based on specific criteria and is limited to what is necessary for the job role.

Access levels are approved by the system administrator or the department in charge of system/module. Refer to the Computer System Access Control policy.


  • May require standing and moving actively during work.
  • May involve lifting heavy objects.
  • Computer use.
  • Potential exposure to chemicals, airborne diseases, blood, and bodily fluids.
  • Risk of harm from violent patients.
