Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Lead, Emerging Technologies, Raritan, NJ or near a Johnson & Johnson office in India, Switzerland, Belgium, or the United States.

This position may require up to 20% travel.

  • Per our J&J Flex Policy, the expectation for this position is to work in the nearest Johnson and Johnson office 34 days per week and work from home 12 days per week. _
Enterprise Quality is a comprehensive organization within J&J that focuses on ensuring the highest standards of quality & compliance.

It encompasses a Quality Operations division that handles Computer System Validation (CSV), QMS Management, and Commercial Quality Shared Services, including specialized support for Transportation Operations and Temperature Control.

Additionally, it includes a Transformation Office dedicated to steering strategic imperatives and enhancing the Quality & Compliance organization's strategy through initiatives like Data Strategy, Automated Product Release, and Digitalization of Quality Management Systems.

The group further comprises a Data & Digital Strategy function tasked with developing and executing a holistic digital and data strategy to improve quality and compliance, covering areas such as Data Foundations, AI/ML & IoT technologies, Quality & Compliance Innovation, and Digital Assets validation.

To facilitate the deployment of these strategic initiatives, the group employs two Deployment Offices for the MedTech and Innovative Medicines segments and maintains a global presence through three regional leaders managing operations in Asia Pacific (ASPAC), Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA), and the Americas.


The Transformation Office ensures efficient, measurable, and value-driven execution of the Q&C strategy, transformation portfolio, annual business planning cycles, and operational support for the office of Enterprise Quality VP.


As part of the Transformation Office, the Emerging Technologies Lead plays a pivotal role in supporting the integration and operationalization of emerging technologies within the Q&C organization.

Reporting to the Director of Emerging Technology, this individual is tasked with executing key initiatives, collaborating closely with data and analytics teams, and ensuring the effective deployment of technologies such as Intelligent Automation (IA), AI/ML, IoT, among others.

The role demands a proactive approach to innovation, focusing on enhancing Q&C's digital transformation journey and aligning with strategic business objectives.


  • Executes key initiatives for integrating and operationalizing emerging technologies such as IA, AI/ML, and IoT within the Q&C organization.
  • Collaborates closely with the Director, Emerging Technologies to align and deliver on Q&C's strategy for leveraging emerging technologies.
  • Supports the deployment of new technologies to enhance automation, predictive analytics, and insightgeneration across business processes.
  • Identifies innovative technology solutions to accelerate Q&C toward strategic business objectives.
  • Assists in the management of technology projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, optimal resource allocation, and risk minimization.
  • Provides technical expertise to infuse new technologies into ongoing transformation initiatives, increasing the transformational value proposition.
  • Facilitates the integration of emerging technologies into Q&C processes, maintaining a focus on innovation and digital transformation.
  • Collaborate with other staff within Transformation Office group to ensure each function is executed in an efficient manner
  • Ensure timely reports of status and metrics as required by the Transformation Office organization

Qualifications:


Requirements:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related fields required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical/med device/biotech industry, with a focus on emerging technologies and digital transformation
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed team environment.
  • Effective communication skills with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in contributing to technology strategy and implementation.
  • Deep understanding of data management principles and digital transformation strategies.
  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills.
  • Customercentric mindset with a focus on delivering value.

Preferred:


  • PMP certification is preferred
  • Familiarity with quality standards (e.g., GMP, ISO regulations) and IT frameworks (SDLC, GAMP 5, ITIL) is highly desirable.
  • Background in Q&C, IT, R&D, manufacturing, or related areas.
  • Science or engineering background is preferred
The base pay range for this position is $99,000 - $170,200.
