    Roles and Responsibilities:
    Specific Job Duties

    As a supervisor for our Maintenance Engineering Team, you will have two primary areas of responsibility.

    Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager you will:


    Maintenance Engineering:

    Develop and lead the continuous improvement processes for the Maintenance Team of three Reliability and Maintenance Engineers by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance systems and by optimizing the processes used to manage the maintenance activities.


    Planning/Scheduling:

    Supervise the team of five planner/schedulers to safely and efficiently execute the routine and emergency work of the Maintenance Team.

    Leadership Responsibilities

    As Supervisor of the Maintenance Engineering and Planner/Scheduler Teams you will:

    Promote a safe work environment.


    Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for each member of the team through a collaborative career mapping approach that also supports Samsung's organizational objectives.


    Coordinate closely with Engineers, Project Managers, Operations, and others to align the team's work to achieve the greatest success of the WTR department and Samsung.

    Develop, implement, and improve work processes to optimize the team's functions and integrate with Samsung systems.

    Lead conflict resolution within a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration across the team, department, and company.

    Support the team to prioritize daily tasks, approving and prioritizing external support requests.

    Training, executing, and ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.

    Maintaining and improving existing Standard Operating Procedures including the Certification documentation and process.

    Create work schedules and monitors employee attendance.

    Monitor performance metrics, identifies positive and negative fluctuations, and escalate to appropriate parties if deviations occur.

    Maintenance Engineering


    Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, you will lead the Maintenance & Reliability Engineers under your supervision to build a comprehensive program to structure and optimize the maintenance processes for the Water systems.

    Your responsibilities will include identifying methods and developing processes to improve the reliability of our systems and optimize our maintenance programs.

    This is expected to include, among other activities, the following:

    Evaluate equipment and system failures to identify and understand failure modes and root causes.


    Develop preventive maintenance programs to improve system reliability, and adjust maintenance intervals to eliminate unnecessary maintenance while optimizing system uptime.

    Perform FMEA and other studies to understand the risk profile of maintenance programs.


    Implement and improve condition monitoring programs including vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonics, oil analysis, and others to drive improved maintenance programs and higher reliability.

    Participate in the planning and execution of maintenance annual turnarounds.


    Coordinate with Procurement and Warehouse management to integrate the spare parts programs with the maintenance programs to ensure the highest levels of online availability while optimizing inventory costs.


    Manage the workorder systems to ensure that they are used consistently to schedule the work, allocate resources, and capture the data needed support continuous improvement of the maintenance programs.

    Planning/Scheduling

    The Planner/Schedulers under your supervision routinely perform these activities which may include numerous opportunities for continuous process improvement:

    Review work order backlog to identify work to be planned by priority, equipment downtime, and business needs.


    For work orders identified as requiring planning: perform field walk, fill out field scoping checklist, determine and address job needs, and develop job plan document.


    Identify parts needed for repairs and forward information to Parts Coordinator for order placement (maintain two-way communication to obtain ETA and for notification when parts arrive).

    Identify scaffold needs and coordinate build and demo (Schedule and attend walks, submit build / demo RWP's).


    Identify repairs requiring Grade A / B walks, complete additional planning needs identified on walk, if any, and submit post walk revised work plan for approval.

    Identify LOTO needs and work with Operations / Engineering to develop plan.


    Identify Contractor needs (Rescue Services, Field Service Tech, etc.) enter FOM Order Request, obtain approval, and notify scheduler once job is planned so that coordination can be performed for timeslot that job is scheduled.


    Identify coordination / support required from other groups (Electrical, Maintenance, GCS, etc.) and notify scheduler once job is planned so that coordination can be performed for timeslot that job is scheduled.


    Identify special tools needs for repairs and reserve at FOB, arrange for rental, or have Parts Conductor order (if not owned by FOM and approval to purchase is obtained).

    Identify required PPE and document on job plan for repair.


    Review the PM forecast for parts needs and work with Parts Conductor to make sure that parts are on-hand and available at time that PM is to be performed.

    Develop electronic equipment files for all planned jobs for future reference.

    Shift:

    1st Shift (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)


    Skills and Qualifications:
    Preferred Education and Experience

    2-year degree preferred, or commensurate 3-year work experience minimum.

    2+ years of experience as a planner/scheduler, project engineer, or project manager, or facilities engineer.

    Experience in sophisticated maintenance management systems for large facilities.

    Experience must be in an industrial environment including pumps and other rotating equipment, piping systems, and complex instrumentation systems. Water and wastewater experience preferred but not required.

    2+ years supervising technicians and/or engineers

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Skilled in MS Office:
    Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

    Ability to independently multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Provide system support and direction, serving as a primary point of contact and preparing briefings for senior management.
