What Makes This Position Special? The security guard is responsible for following security protocols to ensure resident and employee safety including surveying the community for illegal activities, suspicious behavior or dangerous situations and responding to residents or staff in need of assistance.
What You'll Do:
- Responds to resident requests for security or emergency maintenance/housekeeping assistance. May assist direct care staff with resident emergencies.
- Performs inspections of the community on foot as directed to detect and respond to any unusual, unsafe, or abnormal conditions and responds as appropriate.
- Monitors compliance with parking and traffic regulations on campus. Utilizes security camera system to monitor activities inside and outside the building.
- Answers phones, greets and directs visitors, and accepts deliveries if covering reception desk during assigned shift.
The Skills You'll Need:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 6 months experience in security or equivalent combination of education & experience.
- Experience in healthcare or longterm care setting preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to be able to interact with all levels of people.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
