Job description
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and assess the medical needs of patients at the scene.
- Administer basic life support measures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), control of bleeding, and airway management.
- Stabilize patients and provide necessary medical interventions while en route to medical facilities.
- Safely operate and maintain emergency vehicles and medical equipment.
- Document all patient interactions, treatments provided, and relevant medical information accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during emergencies.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards of emergency medical care, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with best practices and advancements in emergency medical care.
- Collaborate with community organizations and agencies to promote public health and safety initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. (required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform duties requiring lifting, carrying, and moving patients.
- California Driver's License.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient care and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training in trauma care, occupational illnesses and injuries, or other specialized areas of emergency medicine.
- Knowledge of local emergency response protocols and procedures.
