Job Summary:


The Data Enablement Analyst partners with business and technical stakeholders to increase data literacy, provide guidance on data, and ensure that the organisation has the appropriate data governance in place.


General:

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups

Responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the adoption of Data Governance practices across the organisation
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to maintain an active understanding of the Beazley data assets as well as related processes and activities
  • Work with business domains to analyse existing Data Governance activities and recommend enhancements to ensure alignment to the Data Management Framework
  • Identify Data Governance process gaps and work with stakeholders to design solutions to address them
  • Support the Data Governance Lead in the delivery of the Data Governance Vision
  • Support the development Data Governance standards and processes
  • Support the implementation of Data Governance practices and processes
  • Support the definition of key Data Governance metrics
  • Gather, document and publish Data Governance metrics
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Data Governance education for the business domains within Beazley
  • Serves as the steward of the metadata repository by assisting in the gathering and articulation of metadata, planning testing of metadata in systems, and training staff to properly create and manage metadata

Skills & Abilities

  • An understanding of both data management, data policies and best practices
  • Strong experience in enforcing best practice. Able to combine rigour and discipline with a pragmatic approach to deliver the highest quality, cost effective solutions within set timeframes
  • Navigating and supporting the business to successfully adopt Data Governance Practices
  • Driving delivery of value of data during the journey of modernisation and change initiatives
  • Management and communication skills with both business and technical partners
  • Problem solving skills
  • Collaborative team player with an orientation towards work relationships
  • Strong cultural awareness
  • Ability to extract information by questioning, listening and interviewing
  • Results orientated
  • Keen eye for detail with a genuine interest in understanding the journey data travels along
  • Analytical with strong numeracy and good statistical skills
  • Comfortable presenting data flows and relationships to nondata peers and colleagues

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience of working in a data focused role
  • Experience of working within the Financial Services industry
  • Experience and knowledge of business and technology issues related to data management
  • Experience using automation to manage and support data governance and quality
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Working knowledge of lean, continuous improvement and Agile ways of working
