**Job Skills / Requirements**

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

Operate street sweepers and other related heavy equipment and tools to sweep streets, gutters, medians, parking lots, courtyards and public works yards

Clear debris from right-of-ways

Clean storm drains and inlets

Manually clean grass areas and islands

Sweep/clean curb lines, corners and sidewalks

Change trash can liners

**Education/Experience:**

+ Experience driving a pick-up type vehicle

**Language Ability:**

+ Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences

**Math Ability:**

+ No skills needed

**Reasoning Ability:**

+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
