The Job:

FCI is in search of a Design Drafter to join our Nuclear Division.

This position will play a crucial role in supporting the development of nuclear instruments, along with documentation of detailed drawings of our engineering designs and specifications.

What You'll Do:


  • Collaborate with Design Engineers to create or modify drawings.
  • Manage file creations using ADEPT (Product Data Management tool).
  • Create 3D modeling of assemblies and instrumental parts, while generating detailed dimensional drawings for reference.
  • Troubleshoot assemblies for fit, form and function and provide recommendations for corrections, such as the piping systems, control systems, etc.
  • Interpret redline changes and update to existing engineering documents using the ECN process (Engineering Change Notice).
  • Generate manufacturing work instruments, bill of materials, and outlines of dimensional drawings or wiring diagrams.
  • Present 3D models of design specifications to supervisors and engineers after completion.

What You'll Need:


  • Associate degree or equivalent in drafting, engineering technology or 13 years of experience in related field.
  • Proficiency in computeraided design (CAD) software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Adept, or similar tools.
  • SolidWorks certification preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to create and interpret precise technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested.

Physical/Travel Requirements

  • This position requires sitting, typing, and working at a computer station 80% of the time.
  • Minimum walking or standing and lifting up to 15 lbs. are required.
  • This position does not require travel.
