Description

• Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and play areas neat and clean.
• Shovels, plows, and/or sands walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps, as appropriate.
• Sweep or vacuum classrooms and offices daily and dusts furniture and equipment.
• Cleans corridors after school each day, and during the day when corridor condition requires it.
• Scrubs and disinfects toilet floors and cleans sanitary fixtures, appliances, and drinking fountains daily.
• Washes windows on the inside and outside when necessary.
• Performs such yard-keeping chores as grass cutting, tree trimming, and the like, as necessary, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
• Makes such minor building repairs as necessary.
• Remains on the school premises during school hours and non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and attendance is required by the principal.
• Assumes responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that doors and windows are secured, and lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off.
• Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as directed by the principal.
• Assist in recycling efforts of the school.
• Physical ability to perform work that requires walking, lifting 50 lbs. to waist level, bending, climbing, reaching, and kneeling.
• Knowledge of safety practices.
• Interpersonal skills to get along with supervisor, staff, students, parents, and community.
• Knowledge of effective and environmentally compatible cleaning materials, solution, and practices.
• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or illegal substance in the workplace in compliance with District Policy & Regulation 3122 throughout his/her employment in the District.
• Staff member shall serve as a positive role model.
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
