***: Under the guidance and supervision of the Branch Executive Director, the Youth and Teen Impact Coordinator will have the unique opportunity to introduce and integrate programs for teen youth throughout the Torigian Family YMCA. The coordinator will give youth the opportunity to build self-confidence and interpersonal skills through enrichment, healthy living, social responsibility and youth development activities.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • An understanding of the needs of the communities served by the YMCA and represent the YMCA in a positive manner with specific focus on youth and teen development.
  • Design, create, implement, and assist with activities for all youth and teen students throughout the building.
  • Craft supplemental programming, including a mentorship program, leaders club, and other teen programming which give opportunities for teens to fulfill volunteer requirements.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment within YMCA programs and Peabody/Lynnfield community throughout year to ensure that programs are all encompassing.
  • Recruit, screen, orient volunteer mentors.
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to mentors.
  • Customer Service and Human relations with general public, membership and staff, ensuring participant satisfaction, program quality, proper registration policies, and safety at all times.
  • Track involvement, engagement, and success stories of participants.
  • Other assigned duties for the benefit of the YMCA as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • An associate and/or bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum age of 2
  • Completion of YMCA programspecific certifications.
  • Completion of: Redwoods Trainings including Child Abuse Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens; CPR; First Aid; AED.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Ability to work night and weekend hours.

- **SKILLS**: Excellent organizational skills, detailed oriented, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, ability to effectively communicate, understand the relationship of the general public to the association.


Compensation:
$24-$27/hour depending on experience
