Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant Flexible provides support in the clinical and office functions of the department.

The incumbent serves as a key contact for patients visiting the department, greeting patients, schedules tests and procedures as well as providing explanation for such tests and procedures.

Administer vaccines, job related tests, and other clinical support functions. Will answer any questions related to care coordination of the patient.

Coordinates paperwork for patient visit, prepares patients for exams and tests, and serves as a resource to assist patients and staff in coordinating patient care.

Schedules tests and visits, performs administrative/clerical duties, and provides backup to other staff to ensure efficient patient processing within the Department of Medicine.

Performs clerical support that may include extensive scheduling duties including phone support. Performs data entry and other job related duties.


Specifications:

High school graduate with Medical Assistant required and three to five years experience in a medical office or similar setting.

Graduate of phlebotomy program highly desirable. Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills required. Must have demonstrated ability to perform in fast-paced environment and handle multiple duties. Proficiency in the English language required; fluency in Spanish very helpful.
