Job Description:
Looking for a Business Property Insurance Specialist to join our team.
Client is interested in individuals with experience in Loan Servicing, Commercial Insurance, and Real Estate. The ideal candidate should excel in conducting complex analyses and assessing situations related to Insurance and Real Estate. This role demands someone with strong analytical skills who can evaluate complex risks and express them clearly. This is not your standard checklist role; we need someone who can independently manage a diverse range of tasks that may vary daily.
We expect resumes to exhibit long-term commitments to previous roles, involvement in the community or volunteer work, a humble attitude, openness to feedback, and a positive demeanor.
Reporting to the department manager, the role involves safeguarding investors' interests efficiently by adhering to the guidelines outlined in individual investor guides, Pooling and Servicing Agreements, applicable laws, and mortgage documents. The primary focus is on insurance matters concerning commercial properties held as collateral for lenders and investors. Responsibilities include insurance analysis, premium disbursements, risk assessment, appraisal reviews, and liaising with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
Mandatory Skills:
· Familiarity with insurance documentation
· In-depth understanding of various types of commercial property insurance policies
· Experience in Property and Casualty insurance
· Proficiency in Insurance Policy Review
JOB BRIEF (PURPOSE):
· Responsible for protecting investors' interests in an efficient and timely manner in compliance with mortgage agreements.
· Focuses on insurance matters within the parameters of investor guides, Agreements, laws, and mortgage documents.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Review, analyze, and interpret property and liability insurance policies, operating statements, and appraisals for commercial loans to ensure compliance with loan terms and internal procedures.
· Maintain updated insurance data in the servicing system to reflect current policy status.
· Oversee insurance premium payments and force-place insurance, when necessary.
· Collect documentation to ensure non-escrowed loans have adequate insurance coverage.
· Administer casualty losses on commercial properties, including analyzing losses, arranging property inspections, and dispersing funds from loss proceeds.
· Communicate with borrowers, insurance agents, and internal departments to resolve insurance-related issues.
· Handle customer inquiries related to commercial property insurance and support acquisition tasks.
· Train new employees and assist in departmental tasks as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of two years' experience in commercial property insurance or equivalent, or a four-year college degree.
· Experience in reviewing and interpreting legal documents.
· Thorough knowledge of various commercial property insurance policies.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience in commercial loan servicing.
· Four-year college degree.
· Background in commercial insurance agency or carrier work.
· Familiarity with loan servicing software like McCracken/Strategy.
· Proficiency in Word and Excel software.
· Excellent multitasking and prioritization abilities in fast-paced environments.
· Team player with strong interpersonal skills and professional conduct.
EQUIPMENT USED:
· P.C., Standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, calculator)
TRAINING REQUIRED:
· On-the-job training as necessary.
