    As a Journeyman with Carrier, you will uniquely impact our customers, becoming the face of the confidence we stand by while ensuring their comfort.

    Your knowledge of Commercial HVAC will be critical in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects.

    At Carrier, we value our partnerships with our Union workers and are committed to providing payment for all travel time incurred; plus, Carrier has an on-call schedule that helps ensure better work-life balance, with on-call rotation being held every 7-8 weeks.

    Inspect air-conditioning units to ensure efficient operation
    Perform regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling units
    Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions
    Install, replace, or repair damaged equipment; Install new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems; repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment; Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of unit and make necessary adjustment; inspect and service refrigeration equipment including refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps
    Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems
    Adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems; Assist in planning and designing of new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems
    Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations
    Recognize and identify potential risks and hazards associated with performing all work-related duties safely
    Work to mitigate potential risks associated with essential duties
    Participate in a comprehensive OSHA-approved safety course (preferably OSHA 10- or 30-hour course) and adhere to company and regulatory compliance programs
    Obtain or carry low voltage electrical card
    Obtain or carry any needed mechanical licenses for city or state work performed

    A minimum of 5+ years practical working experience in the HVAC Industry
    Maybe required to pass a satisfactory examination as to skills and ability as a Building Trades
    Has to be part of or willing to join the Union

    Principles and practices of Heating, Venting, Air Conditioning (HVAC) maintenance and repair; HVAC controls and safety devices; appropriate Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) / chemical usages; materials and refrigerant recovery equipment and procedures used in installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC systems
    Computerized electrical circuits and systems as they relate to air-conditioning, heating, ventilating, and refrigerated cooling
    Sheet metal, electrical, plumbing
    Basic understanding of building automation controls
