Apprentice Technician Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs as directed
  • Diagnose the malfunction
  • Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or maintenance work is required
  • Document all work performed
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations
  • Road test vehicles to quality check work performed
  • Keep shop area neat and clean and able to account for all dealershipowned tools
  • Attend training, shop meetings, continue education provided by the manufacturers to improve competence level

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate from automotive program or have been employed at an automotive shop for over 1 year
  • Must be ASE certified
  • Must be mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn
  • Possess a valid Illinois driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Able to take and follow direction
  • A desire to learn and deliver customer satisfaction every time

Hours
Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Some Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
