Job Overview:

The primary functions of a Heavy Haul Driver are to drive a flat bed, heavy duty flat bed, tractor with Landoll trailer, tractor with flat deck or drop deck trailer, and a tractor with a Lowboy trailer.

Driver will use this equipment to move objects or heavy equipment for customers. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Essential Job Functions:

Ability to drive all vehicles assigned to them
Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned
Load cargo in a safe manner as trained
Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels
Complete all "pretrip" requirements before each truck run and "posttrip" requirement at the end of each shift
Ability to read and navigate road maps and GPS systems
Confirm that all necessary permits are obtained before delivering load
May drive in hazardous conditions, including inclement weather, tight quarters, and innercity locations
Handle exposure to heavy traffic, dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, lowlighted work areas and high noise levels
Ability to communicate via written orders and instructions.
Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and coworkers at all times
Follows company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies
Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress
Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Other duties as assigned by management
