Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Supervisor to join our healthcare team.

The Clinical Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily clinical operations to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with healthcare regulations.


The Clinical Supervisor is the Head of Service (HOS) for the assigned Short-Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) facilities (one unless approval received for two or more sites by DMH/DHCS); and manages the STRTP site(s) for clinical purposes.


The HOS is responsible for ensuring that:

youth in the STRTP have a mental health assessment; are receiving appropriate mental health treatment services; services are documented; reports are completed timely based on agency policy; documentation and recordkeeping requirements are met; and that each child in STRTP has commonality of needs with other placed clients; This position oversees clinical activities and requires collaboration with therapist, rehabilitation and medical staff in the provision of comprehensive service delivery.


The Clinical Supervisor has the responsibility to plan, supervise, review and evaluate the work of clinical staff assigned to the STRTP program; provide education and consultation services to community agencies; and assist the Program Director with program development and contract management.


DUTIES:

  • Plans, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of staff and interns assigned to program
  • Assists in selection, training and evaluation of staff and interns
  • Provides weekly individual and group supervision of clinical staff
  • Reviews case records, and makes recommendations regarding methods of treatment and meeting client needs
  • Arranges transportation for clients not provided by STRTP
  • Monitors the quality of mental health services provided to clients
  • Meets at least monthly with other HOS staff assigned at other STRTP
  • Spends at least two hours three days per week at each assigned facility
  • Completes Admission Statement within five days of placement of clients at STRTP
  • Maintains a supervision record of assigned staff
  • Maintains a supervision log and supervision notes
  • Conducts client chart reviews on a monthly basis. Ensures that a minimum of charts are included in each review and that a final review is completed on all closed charts chart per staff, per month are reviewed and documented on review tool and summary provided on findings
  • Reviews and approves all clinical documentation including notes, case plans, etc.
  • Ensures new employees receive orientation training on documentation, program and agency information, and the EHRS system
  • Participates as back up in the on-call duty, providing crisis intervention support to clients and caregivers
  • Conducts agency and program trainings and in-services
  • Coordinates provision of services with related community mental health service agencies, private care providers and treatment facilities
  • Participates in developing instructional material and assists in developing program goals; assists management in evaluating program needs
  • Assists in planning and conducting staff meetings
  • Participates in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings
  • Participates in statewide associations, area planning groups, and serves as liaison to outside behavioral health facilities, area schools and community agencies
  • Participates in peer reviews
  • Participates in agency/program Performance and Quality Improvement projects
  • Adhere to agency safety protocols
  • Provides direct services on an as needed basis
  • Serves on the Quality Assurance and Review Team
  • Serves on a Strategic Planning Sub-Committee
  • Performs other duties within scope of responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • California Board of Behavioral Science licensure (LMFT, LCSW or LPCC)
  • Minimum one year of clinical supervision in a mental health setting appropriate to the functional area to which assigned
  • Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, including work planning, assignment, review and evaluation
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, DMH, and DHCS policies and regulations; and Evidenced Based Practices
  • Demonstrate commitment to team objectives and Eggleston's mission, vision and values
  • Efficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software programs
  • Demonstrated experience working with an ethnically, culturally and racially diverse staff
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Criminal record and health clearances

Physical Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have the visual, physical and technical ability to independently operate a variety of office equipment including the use of a computer.
  • Must be capable of bending, stooping, filing, lifting of at least 25 lbs. and able to interrupt physical altercations. Must have the ability to verbally communicate well with others.
