    Description

    Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team

    Responsibilities

    • Report to Independence Tooling Operations Manager & work under guidance from CNC Leader
    • Set up and operate mills and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts
    • Plan machining processes based on work orders and blueprints
    • Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and work material
    • Ensure accurate alignment for efficient machining
    • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain safe operations
    • Complete preventive maintenance requirements for equipment
    • Document actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity across work shifts
    • Review 3D CAD designs and determine programming steps, including material cutting locations
    • Convert instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
    • Determine job order and perform associated calculations
    • Compose and revise programs for increased efficiency

    Qualifications

    • Experience with CNC machining and programming
    • Experience running Tarus 3+2 machines preferred
    • Programming experience, preferably in WorkNC.
    • Familiarity with Fanuc controllers
    • Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in aerospace, automotive or defense industry is a plus
    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs
