    The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one (1), permanent, full-time

    Marketing Analyst position within the Public Affairs Division. This position is to be located in the Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Francisco office. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions within the next 180 days.

    Under the direction of the Digital Marketing Director, the Marketing Analyst is responsible for collaboratively creating and tactically executing an integrated marketing strategy for the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation in alignment with the department's brand and goals.

    Responsibilities


    • Develop and implement marketing materials in collaboration with the Content Production Specialist to ensure target audiences understand, participate in, and accept department programs and policies.
    • Independently plan, execute, and monitor marketing campaigns using various traditional and nontraditional methods to promote DFPI products.
    • Support community outreach efforts by assisting with event planning, creating marketing materials, and attending events as required.
    • Manage the marketing budget, reconcile expenses, and make recommendations for cost optimization.
    • Perform data analysis and create reports and dashboards to track progress towards departmental KPIs.

    Working Conditions

    Sacramento Location:
    The Sacramento office is located in north Natomas.

    The Natomas office offers FREE PARKING, is easily accessible from INTERSTATES 5 and 80, and is also close to various dining and shopping choices in the Natomas area.


    San Francisco Location:

    The San Francisco office is located in the heart of the financial district within walking distance to BART and restaurants.


    Los Angeles Location:

    The Los Angeles office is located in the heart of the downtown financial district within walking distance to restaurants, transit, multiple parking options.


    San Diego Location:

    The San Diego office is located in the heart of Mission Valley, within walking distance to many shops and restaurants.

    ASSOCIATE GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAM ANALYST

    The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) protects consumers and oversees financial service providers and products. The DFPI supervises the operations of state-licensed financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and money transmitters.

    Additionally, the DFPI licenses and regulates a variety of financial service providers, including securities brokers and dealers, investment advisers, payday lenders and other consumer finance lenders.

    The DFPI offers benefit packages, competitive salary, a robust training program and opportunities for advancement.

    Desirable Qualifications

    In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
    3+ years of experience in marketing analysis or a similar role.

    3+ years of recent experience setting up, optimizing, and reporting campaigns in platforms such as Meta for Business, and programmatic display/video experience with platforms like Google Ads, Adobe Advertising Cloud, etc.

    Experience managing monthly ad spends.
    Experience in analyzing campaign performance.
    Experience partnering and negotiating with outside agencies.
    Experience using A/B testing tools, including proprietary tools.
    Must be comfortable forecasting, requesting, and managing a growing budget with KPI targets as the constant focus.
