The role of the Campaign Gift Officer is integral to the success of this ambitious campaign, offering a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the community and in the lives of those served by Luminis Health and Anne Arundel Medical Center.


Position Objective


The Campaign Gift Officer will develop and implement a major gift portfolio in support of Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center's $100M comprehensive campaign.

The Officer will manage an active portfolio of prospects and secure major gifts of $10,000 and up.

This position will develop and implement strategies for the identification, cultivation and stewardship of campaign major gift donors and potential donors.

In collaboration with other gift officers, this promotes support for the Annual Fund and Planned Giving programs, as well as for capital or special project support, and specialized fundraising campaigns.

Duties may be deleted and additional duties may be assigned at the supervisor's discretion.


Professional/Technical Competencies

1. Fundraising Knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising terms and strategies as it pertains to donors, staff, vendors and volunteers. Particular expertise in the area of major gift strategies and techniques.


2. Marketing
Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies as they relate to fundraising and major gift procurement.


3. Ethical Practices


Demonstrated ability to adhere to regulations and policies pertaining to donors, and maintaining a high level of moral and ethical standards with regard to donor rights, etc.


Essential Functions

  • Establishes and monitors a Major Gifts portfolio, soliciting gifts in support of the campaign for the Foundation.
  • Works with the Foundation, Board members, staff and volunteers as appropriate to set annual goals for Major Gifts.
  • Initiates the most appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies and assists with major donor requests.
  • Assist in developing campaign materials, case statements, and communication strategies.
  • Researches and identifies major gift prospects for LHAAMCF comprehensive campaign.
  • Works closely with other Foundation staff members to establish comprehensive "moves management" plan and develops short and longterm business plans.
  • Meets regularly with key LHAAMC personnel, physicians and other leaders to encourage identification of major donor prospects, as well as to understand the needs of the organization.
  • Assists Foundation staff with cultivation and recognition events.
  • Participates in professional networks to maintain current knowledge of laws and techniques.
  • Functions as a key member of the development team and provides additional support as requested to ensure the success of the Foundation in its mission and goals.

Knowledge/Experience

Required Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field

Required Minimum Experience: 1 to 3 years progressive fundraising experience.


Required License / Certifications:
None

Experience in prospect research/identification and proposal writing preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Positive attitude and team-oriented.

Personal computer skills and experience with contact management and Excel databases required. Raiser's Edge exper
