Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports to support strategic decision-making across different business functions. As a key player in our organization, you will help to maintain data quality and integrity while delivering clear and actionable recommendations to enhance our performance and drive growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Interpretation and Analysis: Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports to communicate findings effectively.

• Data Management: Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics strategies to optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Proven technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.

• Data Acquisition: Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases and data systems for easy access and efficient analysis.

• Trend Identification: Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to guide business decisions.

• Data Cleaning and Quality Assurance: Filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.

• Business Prioritization: Collaborate with management to prioritize business and information needs for data analysis and reporting. Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings effectively.

• Process Improvement: Locate and define new process improvement opportunities through data-driven insights and analysis.

• Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular performance reports to assess business outcomes.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other teams (product, marketing, finance) to understand business needs and provide data-driven insights.

• Dashboard and Report Design: Assist in the design and development of dashboards and reports for various stakeholders. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (e.g., Business Objects), databases (e.g., SQL), and programming (e.g., XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).

• Data Integrity and Security: Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data at all stages of analysis and reporting. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.

• Experience: Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.

• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (e.g., Excel, SPSS, SAS).

• Advanced Skills: Proficiency with databases (e.g., SQL), data modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present data findings and insights.

• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

• Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment:

This position works in an office and a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and loud noises from machinery and equipment alarms. The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises and alarms from equipment and machinery.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged Sitting: The Data Analyst will spend a significant portion of the workday sitting at a desk, analyzing data, and working on a computer.

• Repetitive Motion: The role involves repetitive motions such as typing on a keyboard and using a computer mouse, which may require taking breaks for stretches.

• Visual Focus: Extended periods of visual focus are required for working with data on computer screens and interpreting complex reports and visualizations.

• Mobility: The Data Analyst may occasionally need to move around the office for meetings, discussions, or collaborative work with other teams.

when we had an honest-to-goodness working farm on the outskirts of the bustling metropolis of Chicago. As one of the largest specialty vegetable farms in the Midwest, we worked the land, bringing fresh produce to market. And even though we've grown out of that first urban farm, we haven't forgotten what it means to be an Urban Farmer. It means working with honesty, integrity and a dedication to providing the freshest products.
