YOU
We are looking for an innovative designer to join our team and help us shape the future of our design at Simpson Strong-Tie.
As a Junior UX Product Designer, you will be responsible for the design of complex user experiences and interfaces, ensuring that our product is intuitive, functional, and visually appealing.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and user research to define and deliver exceptional user experiences that meet the needs of our customers.
You'll demonstrate your creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge of user-facing technologies to enable efficient, high-quality execution and communications as well as launch innovative features for a diverse product portfolio.
This position reports to the Team Manager, UX Product Design.WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Product Design (40%)
- Support the design of user experiences and interfaces, ensuring they are intuitive and visually appealing.
- Participate in the entire design process from ideation, research, prototyping, to testing.
- Employ design thinking methodologies to brainstorm and iterate on creative solutions.
- Assist in prototyping design concepts in collaboration with senior designers and crossfunctional teams.
- Help create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and highfidelity designs that effectively communicate design solutions.
- Contribute to user testing and research to validate designs.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and best practices in UX design and technology,
- Engage in design critiques, providing and receiving feedback to refine designs.
- Collaborate with senior designers and crossfunctional teams to understand business and customer requirements.
- Support the integration of UX solutions, ensuring compatibility across multiple browsers and devices.
- Participate in discussions with product management, engineering, and user research to align on exceptional user experiences.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a design system to ensure consistency and scalability across products.
- Support senior designers in creating reusable UX patterns and frameworks for user tasks.
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining design standards and guidelines.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Up to 2 years of experience in UX design.
- A foundational understanding of design principles and a desire to solve complex user problems.
- A portfolio showcasing your design process and ability to produce engaging user interfaces.
- Familiarity with Figma and other design tools.
- Basic knowledge of design systems, typography, layout, color, and interaction design.
- Experience in collaborating on design projects and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating design concepts and solutions.
- A degree or certification in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION
This full-time, exempt position is located in Pleasanton, CA and is open to fully remote within the US.
RELOCATION
Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay
$76,200 - $121,900 / year
- Posted pay range is based upon national average and may vary depending on geographical work location.
