Job Overview -
Senior Technical Accountant:We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Technical Accountant. This role demands a combination of technical accounting expertise and the ability to manage complex projects.
Location:
Boston, MA
Compensation:
$105,000 - $115,000 annually, plus bonus.
Responsibilities as the
Senior Technical Accountant:
M&A Activities: Assist with M&A activities, including contract review, balance sheet preparation, and post-acquisition accounting.
Investment Accounting:
Handle the accounting for new and existing minority investments, including equity method accounting.
Hedge Fund Accounting:
Work with the Technical Accounting Manager on hedge accounting and financial instruments review.
Policy Development:
Develop and update accounting policies and assist management with their understanding and application.
Accounting Pronouncements:
Review and implement new accounting standards.
Transactional Support:
Provide US GAAP guidance for complex transactions to ensure proper ledger recordation.
Participate in the internal controls program, documenting deficiencies and communicating with global control owners.
Assist with quarterly reviews, including the analysis of restructuring and impairment charges.
Financial Reporting:
Contribute to 10-Q and 10-K preparation and support audit documentation requests.
Qualifications of the
Senior Technical Accountant:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an Accounting/Finance concentration is required.
Certification:
An MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Experience:
At least 4 years of relevant work experience, with a blend of public accounting and industry experience. M&A experience is highly preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is essential, along with advanced MS Office Suite capabilities.
Communication:
Must possess excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English
