- Assist with supervision of graduate and undergraduate students with their research projects.

Our department is housed in a 170,000 square foot, $35 million state of the art science building.Excellent core instrumentation and state of the art facilities for NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, and mass spectrometry with full time support staff are available on site.
Position SummaryWe are seeking applicants for a postdoctoral scholar position in Hematian research group. The project will focus on copper enzymes and will involve enzymatic function, substrate specificity, and detailed mechanistic studies.
Applicants with a strong background in bioinorganic chemistry, air-free manipulations, dioxygen chemistry, standard characterization techniques and spectroscopies are encouraged to apply.
Most importantly we are looking for someone with enthusiasm for science and research, so applications from exceptional individuals who have a different scientific focus within fields related to different aspects of inorganic chemistry or biochemistry/chemical biology are more than welcome.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Candidates will have the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment and have close interactions with other team members with diverse backgrounds in a variety of areas including bioinorganic chemistry, chemical biology, biophysics, catalysis, materials chemistry, photochemistry and electrochemistry to broaden their skills.
Candidates must have a Ph.
D. degree in chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry or a related discipline.
Other required qualifications include strong research background, excellent written communication skills as demonstrated in application materials and publications, the desire to mentor junior researchers and professionally interact with a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred QualificationsCandidates familiar with metalloenzymes, copper dioxygen chemistry, advanced spectroscopic techniques, and mechanistic investigations are particularly encouraged to apply.
