Position Summary:

Do you enjoy working with young women and children? Are you able to firmly enforce rules and boundaries, while expressing compassion? As the main point of contact for our young mothers, your role as Direct Care Staff is a meaningful one.

Your responsibility would be to provide continuous support and supervision while maintaining a safe and positive environment for the young children in our home.

It's essential that our team members be supportive, loving parental figures and positive role models.

Applicants MUST be available for weekends and overnight shifts.


Responsibility and Essential Duties:

  • Support our mission, growth, and intake of young mothers and children
  • Ensure educational enrichment/ageappropriate activities are consistently occurring with maternal participation
  • Willingness and comfortability redirecting mothers to abide by and engage in house
- appropriate activities

  • Employ proper conflict resolution strategies among residents as needed
  • Stay current with childcare and education through inservice trainingWillingness to learn about trauma and healing
  • Ability to maintain the traditional duties of a home; cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.
  • Type and read shift reports
  • Respect the confidentiality of residents, staff, and volunteers
  • Other duties/tasks assigned to shifts and as needed by the home and management Qualifications:
  • Experience working with teenagers or vulnerable populationsPrevious childcare experience preferred
  • Ability to be patient and compassionate, and to treat all with dignity and respect
  • Work as a team member, with the ability to keep a positive outlook and attitude
  • Certification in Adult and Infant CPR and First Aid is preferred.
  • Must be willing to be certified Advance study in child care or special service work, including Department of Children and Families (DCF) Requirements:
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
  • Prior experience in early childhood education strongly preferred
  • Ability to connect with teenagers, babies, and toddlers
  • Work nights and/or weekends
  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess valid driver's license and car insurance with clean driving record
  • Cooking abilities/skills highly preferred
  • Complete 40 hours of childcare and development during the first year, 20 hours annually thereafter.
  • Pass FDLE background screening and fingerprinting ($65 fingerprinting fee will be reimbursed after 90 days)
  • Ability to document and read reports with concise language Schedule, Compensation & Benefits:
  • Shifts needed: 7AM-3PM, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am (Overnight) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Weekday and daytime shifts may be available for pick up from time to time
  • Pay starting at: $15.00, or based on experience
  • Must be available for some weekends and overnights
