- Manage the general accounting function of the Group and the preparation of internal and external financial reports;
- Responsible for the month-end, quarterly and year-end closing process including the preparation of consolidated financial statements, analysis of financial results, and preparation of internal management accounts;
- Supervise the maintenance of the general ledger and all sub-ledgers; Develop, implement, maintain and monitor official accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP. Update and communicate company-wide policies as needed;
- Review regional balance sheet reconciliations to ensure account balances are properly stated; Implement and lead the routine regional balance sheet review;
- Develop, implement and oversee intercompany accounting, including compliance with transfer pricing agreements based on jurisdictional tax requirements. Review to ensure intercompany balances are recorded, reconciled and settled correctly and in a timely manner;
- For overseas entities, review and understand the differences between statutory financials and financials reported to corporate, coordinate with corporate tax to ensure the differences have been properly accounted for in the tax filing;
- Perform technical research as required in complex areas, provide guidance to ensure accounting is being done correctly;
- Coordinate annual audit between auditor and various regions globally. Maintain and manage the global audit schedule;
- Liaise with other departments (Manufacturing, Operations, Customer Service, Sales) to understand their processes and financial information needs, and provide appropriate financial advice and reports. The ability to explain a complicated accounting issue to non-finance individuals in simple English is essential;
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Budget for the consolidated Group and in ad hoc business planning projects. Partner with FP&A to analyze budget to actual variances;
- Develop and coach team members.
- Bachelor's degree in account, CPA qualification;
- Big 4 or leading public accounting background and minimum of 20 years' commercial experience, ideally in a medical device environment;
- Experience in a global finance team working with different regions is required. Experience managing global accounting in a public company is ideal;
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision, result oriented, efficient, highly organized, and proactive. Does not settle for mediocrity, takes pride in work performed and presented;
- Our business makes products, the ideal candidate needs to have experience in costing and inventory management,
- Demonstrated skills in driving continuous improvement in the areas of responsibility to drive transition to "best in class" finance organization. Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems. Sarbanes-Oxley experience will be highly desirable;
- Superior analytical skills and attention to details;
- Excellent time management and project management skills;
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin both written and verbal, will be an added advantage.

Job Description
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, The Director, Accounting and Reporting, will manage the global accounting and the internal and external financial reporting function of Sirtex. This role will be responsible for setting up the global accounting framework, ensure the accuracy of data and be responsible for the quality of the financials, consolidated annual report and statutory reports.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual, who has the highest standards of accuracy and precision, results oriented, efficient, highly organized, motivated, low ego and proactive. They do not settle for mediocrity, takes pride in high quality work performed and presented. Strong ability to breakdown and understand financial results, and effectively handle multiple deliverables, concurrently, in a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines.
We are a fast-growing company with a global footprint, looking for someone who already has the required skillset, someone with a can-do attitude, someone who has solid experience working directly for a CFO to join our global finance team to help us build a world-class corporate accounting and reporting function.
We understand this role is highly technical, however, the ideal candidate needs to be able to balance this important skill with an in-depth level of business acumen. It is our belief that accounting can be done correctly only when you fully understand the business environment, we are in. The candidate needs to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and perform detailed work and yet can see the big picture from a holistic perspective.
