This is an opportunity to support the growth of IOWN and IOWN clients by utilizing your development and project management experience.
This would be a fantastic opportunity to step into a smaller, innovative and nimble team putting to use your passion for leadership and utility-scale project development in standalone storage all while working collaboratively with the solar and wind teams in North America.
The candidate will work for a rapidly growing renewable energy company headquartered in San Diego which seeks an innovative, focused, and motivated leader to start a team of professionals doing commercial modeling of projects and deal structures.
Remote candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates who live in or can relocate to San Diego area, CA.
Seniority level will be based on candidate experience.About the Position
As the Associate Director, Project Development, you will manage existing projects and contribute to expanding the portfolio of projects while growing and developing a team to support these efforts.
You are driven to get things done, thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a positive response to pressure, constantly collaborating with internal and external parties.
You will collaborate with all team leads within the organization.You take initiative to conduct market intelligence and research when moving into new markets and areas in the US and support innovative and creative ways of developing utility-scale projects.

RequirementsA minimum of bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience in a related field.
At least 3-5 years utility-scale renewable energy industry development experience with 2 years in utility-scale solar and 2 years in standalone storage.
Experience with CAISO, MISO, ERCOT markets is strongly preferred.Keen understanding of supply and demand, policy/regulation, markets, and financial metrics that drive successful project development.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
Ownership of workflows to meet deadlines and budgets.
Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing at all organizational levels.
Flexible and cooperative with a well-developed team spirit.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage day-to-day development tasks and services required to advance project from origination to ready-for-construction, including but not limited to site acquisition, permitting, and interconnection.
Work collaboratively with subject matter experts and functional leads (including third parties) to coordinate project needs related to resource assessment, engineering, procurement, construction, financing, and power marketing.
Participate in creation of energy assessments and revenue stacking models by providing required project development inputs and assumptions.Support land acquisition and entitlement for assigned projects.
Understand key financial drivers of projects.
