Description

Under general supervision of the Network Support Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II), the Information Technology Associate (IT Assoc) performs functions as a Network Analyst on a variety of network related activities within the Office of Technology Services (OTech), Network Support Unit.

The incumbent is responsible for a wide range of complex analytical services and will work with the IT Specialist team members in planning and organizing functions.

The IT Associate works closely with internal and external customers, and OTech staff to collect requirements necessary for the deployment of Network systems, circuits, and components.


  • The IT Associate will work with the IT Specialist team on internal network projects from initial meetings through completion. The incumbent must be able to interact on a peertopeer level with supplier technical resources to ensure supplier networks systems and products are compliant and efficient.
  • The IT Associate will develop, execute, coordinate, and maintain California Department of Technology (CDT) case management processes and procedures. The incumbent works closely with internal CDT staff and external customers to manage, monitor and coordinate fulfillment of customer requests, resolution of customer issues, and response to customer questions. The IT Associate is responsible for providing status reports and document updates to customers.

Working Conditions

  • Must pass fingerprint background criminal record check completed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
  • The work environment includes operating a personal computer and using a telephone inorder to perform tasks.
  • May be required to attend staff meetings and vendor status meetings.
  • May be required to work occasional off shift hours, weekends, and holidays.
