JOB DESCRIPTION:


We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Gymnastics and Physical Education Teacher at our East Altoona location.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for physical activity and a strong background in various forms of exercise and movement.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach a variety of classes including gymnastics and bodybuilding (with and without equipment), fitness (stepaerobics, kickboxing, floor work, equipment training), dance (hiphop, jazz, modern dance, house dance, folklore), and rhythmics (body percussion, stick dancing, drumming)
  • Instruct students in sports biology (anatomy, physiology, and sports medicine), exercise training theory, pedagogy, psychology and sociology, teaching methodology, management and law, sports history, German/literature, and general music theory
  • Offer elective courses in health (prevention and rehabilitation, yoga, Pilates, progressive muscle relaxation, breathing exercises, spinal, osteoporosis, and balance gymnastics, sports promotion classes, psychomotor skills, sports for seniors, sports for people with physical/mental disabilities, sports and wellness massage) and sports/leisure (swimming and aqua fitness, volleyball, basketball, handball, gymnastics, track and field, badminton, climbing)
  • Prepare students for the state exam and provide them with a certificate from the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences at the Technical University of Munich. The state examination committee consists of teachers
