Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance and communicate company policies and procedures to employees, such as vacation, sick leave, jury duty, oncall compensation, benefits, overtime etc.
- Manage the payroll department including 401(k) administration, union pay, taxes, etc.
- Communicate compensation plans and company philosophy.
- Develop direct recruiting and sourcing strategies for the region to result in minimizing the adverse impact of vacant positions.
- Coordinate with outside recruiters for difficult to fill open positions.
- Update employee information such as personal data, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination dates and reasons.
- Responsible for employee New Hire Orientation and ensure all employees fill out appropriate paperwork including I9s, W4, Handbook acknowledgement, Emergency contact etc.
- Ensure new employees are properly classified (title, department, FLSA etc.)
- Administer/coordinate substance abuse and sexual harassment programs and track training completion.
- Communicate various facets of the Olson Steel Benefits Plan including Benefits Enrollment, Medical, Dental, Life, Short & Long-Term Disability, Reimbursement Accounts, COBRA and 401 (k).
- Coordinate information with all benefits vendors (Healthcare, Disability and 401(k)).
- Assist managers on employee issues in compliance with policy and procedure and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local law.
- Train managers on the interpretation of company policies and how to handle and document employee situations.
- Develop Human Resources programs, policies and employee communications.
- Work as a business partner with the company assisting in reaching business objectives by conducting staffing analysis, budget analysis, turnover analysis and develop solutions to any issues.
- Work with employees and staff to determine training needs to ensure staff development.
- Update company social media pages and website.
- Organize company outings and events.
- Stay current on new laws and regulations and recommend appropriate action when necessary.
- Complete prequalification for company bids.
- Manage workers compensation claims with the thirdparty administrator.
- Update OSHA logs
Qualifications:
Must have 6 years human resources experience and 2 years of supervisory experience. Must be very detail-oriented with excellent communication (both written and oral), interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
Education/Certification:
Minimum requirement:
B.A./B.S., related job experience.
Pay:
$78, $94,943.19 per year
