Director, Information Technology - Wilmington, United States - Sentinel Transportation
Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts the research, development and implementation of network architecture and infrastructure, telecommunications, knowledge management tools and other webbased technologies to provide access to Sentinel's data, information, and resources by its employees.
- Acts as the primary liaison with consultants, vendors and web developers related to technology and telecommunications; ensures that all technology and telecommunications vendors meet service level agreements, branding standards, and operating objectives as well as contractual obligations and timelines.
- Supports Sentinel staff in building skills and capabilities to optimize the use of available technologies, and manages the design and updating of internal standard operating procedures related to technology and telecommunications.
- Manages the assigned budget and all costs relating to technology and telecommunications hardware, software, knowledge management tools, and other webbased technologies.
- Works collaboratively with Sentinel's staff and/or vendors in the design, development, testing and launch of new content or modifications to Sentinel's websites, infrastructure, databases, etc.
- Maintains database access security, controls user access settings, and maintains technical documentation of the configuration and system maintenance plans for all databases.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field required
- Master Degree in computer science, business, or related field, a plus
- Minimum of six or more years of information technology experience, preferably within a transportation or related industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of analyzing information system needs and developing and executing systems processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects and to facilitate the reengineering of work flows within administrative functions
- Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in a range of settings, using a mix of verbal and written communication styles
