Responsibilities
The Regional Head will be responsible for the following key job functions:


  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Green Street's views, research framework, methodologies and process
  • Be able to place the assigned region and markets in the context of broader macroeconomic outlook
  • Demonstrate a detailed grasp of fundamentals for assigned markets within your region across major property sectors
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed operating fundamental models/valuation, projections, and databases by Associates
  • Closely follow and understand real estate market activity and the impact of news events on specific sectors, markets, and assets
  • Demonstrate a command of and full autonomy on regional and market forecasts
  • Monitor and analyze industry macro, market, and real estate news and trends
  • Maintain and defend published market recommendations
  • Build and maintain relationships with market participants including, institutional clients, privatemarket contacts, and media
  • Periodic travel to visit real estate, market participants, and clients
  • Succinctly and capably speak on assigned region and markets within, both internally and externally
  • Support commercial teams with a level of client meetings both virtual and in person
  • Proactively respond to news and communicate changes in views
  • Primary authorship of market research reports both periodic, ongoing reports and thoughtleading new research
  • Train and develop junior team members (Associates and/or Senior Associates)

Requirements:

In addition to a strong work ethic, track record of superior work product, and the potential to take on more senior roles in the future, the Research Analyst position requires the following skills:

meticulous attention to detail, research skills, intellectual curiosity, strong communication (both written and verbal), a high level of organization, creativity and resourcefulness, and an ability to work independently and multi-task.

Strong analytical skills and a background in finance are required.

  • A Bachelor's degree with CRE industry experience or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in finance, or a Master's degree in accounting, real estate, economics, or a related field
  • 510 years of relevant experience in conducting CRE or financial/economic research
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to credibly interact internally and externally with executives, institutional investors, and the media
  • Managerial experience as well as the ability to develop and lead Associates, set and achieve priorities, and multitask effectively without sacrificing accuracy
  • Strong working knowledge of real estate, and Microsoft Excel
  • Authorization to work in the United States now and in the future, without visa or sponsorship requirements

Working Conditions:

The Regional Head will work indoors in an air-conditioned office building and must be able to remain stationary at a desk and computer for a majority of the day.
