Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for an Architect in our Water Group.

This individual is expected to work with Baxter & Woodman's Water Group on project teams in Illinois, Florida, Texas and Wisconsin.

We are seeking qualified applicants for our Crystal Lake, Naperville, Chicago, Mokena, Illinois or Houston, Texas offices.


POSITION DUTIES:


  • Provides planning, design, and coordination of small to large projects
  • Responsible for specific technical design solutions to meet the client's needs.
  • Performs analyses of design, planning, occupancy studies and design layouts.
  • Participates in conceptual design and provides full team support throughout the entire project.
  • Demonstrates an advanced understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, details, and construction techniques.
  • Performs construction administration duties including conducting onsite observations, preparation of observation reports, and responding to RFIs and review of submittals.
  • Preparation of Architectural design drawings and specifications for construction.
  • Assists with business development to support our clients, which may include code review, developing Ordinance standards, and plan review.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Professional Degree in Architecture with a minimum of 5 years' related experience.
  • Licensed Architect.
  • Knowledge of architectural design development, construction documents, codes, standards, and other disciplines.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit software programs.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a team environment while working on several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel (own transportation).
