JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates on new implementation / installation project teams.
  • Troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Tests and verifies software releases, upgrades and any changes prior to the promotion of code to the production environment.
  • Generate and update appropriate documentation as per policy and procedure. Including requirements, specifications, change control, end user documentation.
  • Create and route required operational and management reporting needs as required by management and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of technology by attending appropriate continuing education training/seminars and reading related periodicals.
  • Familiar with process improvement and project management methodologies.
  • Participates in Hospital/Network Committees as assigned.
  • Function as part of a team.
  • Strong Customer Service Orientation and ability to follow through on issue resolution.
  • Level 2 support for Application related issues.
  • On-Call Support Required.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:


Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time.

Requires crouching, kneeling, and lifting of objects weighing up to 60 pounds, pushing objects weighing up to 80 pounds. Requires hand and finger dexterity to perform repairs of small equipment and to use computer equipment. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience is preferred.


TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
One to two years of General Computer experience is required. One to two years of Healthcare experience is preferred. One to two years of Revenue Cycle Application experience is preferred. One to two years PC/LAN Support experience is preferred. PC and Printer knowledge and experience is preferred.

Application Experience:
McKesson Star, Hospital Information System, Scheduling System experience is preferred. Call Management System, MS Visio, MS Project experience is preferred. MS Office is required

Hospital Operations Knowledge / Experience:
General, Radiology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physician Services, Laboratory, Patient Care Services, Patient Processing experience preferred.
