AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national service program dedicated to ending poverty by building the capacity of nonprofit organizations and public agencies. VISTA's mission is to strengthen and supplement efforts in low-income communities to eliminate and alleviate poverty by engaging volunteers from all walks of life, all geographical areas, and all age groups in a year of full-time service.
By joining Volunteer Corps at L.A.
Works, you will be placed with one of our nonprofit partner organizations to serve for 12 months and tasked with a capacity-building project such as: creating sustainable systems to expand services, recruiting community members to volunteer in local programs, establishing a database of program alumni, and/or developing partnerships to bring new economic opportunities in LA county.

Eligibility Requirements
- Be 18 years or older
- Pass a national service criminal history check
- Hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens and persons residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status
Nonprofit Relations Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Nonprofit Relations Coordinator, the Nonprofit Relations VISTA will build capacity for L.A. Works and partner organizations by developing volunteer management guides and trainings that will share our organizational expertise.
Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM with some weekends for days of service. Role is 25% in person and 75% remote
Training
- Develop robust volunteer management guides and trainings (e
g:
a training about how to create compelling postings) for L.A. Works staff and external partners
- Organize bimonthly DOVIA activities and annual DOVIA-LA conference including curriculum, trainers and logistics
- Standardize seven impact issue area webpages and rebuild the "Dig Deeper" sections
- Research and compile information for monthly Nonprofit and DOVIA-LA member newsletters
- Research and compile information for DOVIALA Member Resources page
- Spearhead yearround initiatives for organizationwide seasonal events and Signature Days of Service, guiding volunteers to actively contribute to economic opportunities and the promotion of healthy futures.
- Develop process guides for tracking and track participation
Pay:
$2,054.00 per month
