    Description

    We are currently seeking a highly motivated Instrumentation Engineer to join our Instrumentation Service group. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the repair, upgrade, and calibration of dynamometer test systems, instrumentation, and controls supporting various powertrain test cells.

    • Directing repair and modification of test equipment for efficient facility run time.
    • Providing technical knowledge and guidance to technicians during repairs and issue troubleshooting.
    • Performing workforce management and customer interface tasks.
    • Contributing to operational efficiency goals of the instrumentation group.
    • Leading the installation of new and modified test cells, especially those related to hybrid and electrified propulsion testing equipment.

    The ideal candidate should possess:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
    • Experience in troubleshooting test equipment and performing root cause analysis.
    • Knowledge of AC & DC dynamometers systems, test cell instrumentation, and control system support.
    • Proficiency with PLC systems, including ladder logic and hardware troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with Battery Emulators and their application in eMotor and EDM testing.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
    • Strong leadership abilities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and effective communication skills.

    Preferred qualifications include:

    • Master of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
    • 2+ years of experience in AC & DC motor/drive systems, control systems, PLC, data acquisition systems, and electronic components.
    • Experience in engine test support with a focus on test cell instrumentation & facility systems.
    • Experience in analyzing and defining equipment upgrades.
    • 2+ years of experience in the installation of new test cells, particularly those related to dynamometers and controls.
    • In-depth knowledge of Battery Emulators and Electric Vehicle Testing.

    Key Requirements:

    • Motor/drive experience.
    • PLC (Programmable Logic Control) proficiency.
    • Data acquisition experience.
