Grants, Tourism and Economic Development Coordinator - Oglesby, United States - City of Oglesby, IL

Description

• Works with the City Council in finding grants and opportunities that pair with the city's vision.
• Coordinates and manages community growth projects with project developers.
• Prepares and reports progress on projects, monitoring until complete.
• Evaluates projects that are granteligible according to applicable regulations and criteria.
• Creates and maintains a list of local businesses for business communication programs.
• Collaborates with business owners for increased opportunities.
• Work with other state and local economic development agencies.
• Conducts special research and/or analyzes economic development program activities.
• Work with Oglesby Event Coordinators to ensure new events are in keeping with city expansion.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.

• Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to gather, collate, and analyze a variety of data.
• Thorough understanding of program research, development, and implementation techniques.
• Thorough understanding of agencies and programs related to federal economic and urban development.
• Basic understanding of agency goals, objectives, programs, and services.
• Basic understanding of community resources and development needs.

• Significant experience with understanding of grants, tourism, and Business Administration required. Bachelor's degree in a business field or equivalent experience preferred.
• At least three years of experience in economic development required, 10+ years preferred.

• Hourly rate
• Negotiable based on experience

• Parttime, with potential for IMRF benefits, and possibility of developing into a fulltime position.
