- Assemble, install, inspect, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment. Ensure compliance with applicable codes. Inspect and test electrical systems to identify hazards using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Run new wire, bend conduit, install switches and other components, run electronic tests, clean contacts or circuit boards, replace worn components, oil motors.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production; diagnose malfunctioning systems, locate the cause of the breakdown and repair. Remove defective parts using power tools and other equipment.
- Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. Able to work on systems with sensors and switches, motor controls, overload relays, PLC's, VFD's, solid state devices and monitors/displays.
- Report equipment parts usage from stock to ensure accurate inventory; notify department supervisor of any parts and supplies needing to be ordered.
- Comply with all rules and regulations for safety and quality.
- Maintain work area and equipment, ensure clean, sanitary and orderly conditions, and apply 5S principles.
- Complete required reports such as production data sheets and documentation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical manufacturing or controls, or union electrical experience
- Understanding of voltage, both AC and DC testing
- Able to troubleshoot and test voltage throughout a panel
- Knowledge of sensors, solenoids, and actuators
- Able to read and write English for preparation of reports and documentation
