We are currently looking to hire an experienced Project Foreman to join our team of builders and craftspeople. This is a full-time year-round nonexempt position.


The Project Foreman reports directly to the Superintendent and their primary responsibility is to support the Superintendent with the site operations of a highly demanding residential construction project.

Additional responsibilities include providing single source responsibility for all layout of building assemblies and systems during the project, and responsibility for the quality of all construction.

There are no direct reports.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:


  • Ability to read plans and be capable of extracting information as required to perform carpentry tasks.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the uniform building code.
  • Ability to understand and describe forces acting upon individual framing members such as compression, tension, shear, deflection, and the effects of drilling or notching framing components.
  • Ability to understand and describe the forces acting upon a wood frame building such as compressive loads, lateral loads, overturn forces.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of building mechanical systems including plumbing, electrical, heating and sheet metal.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of nonmechanical sub trades such as roofing, tile, drywall, and painting.
  • Demonstrate safe and skillful use of specialized power tools.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform layout, cutting and assembly skills efficiently and accurately for the following divisions of work:
  • Foundation forming, steel placement, hardware installation
  • Floor framing
  • Wall framing
  • Roof framing including exposed structure
  • Sheet materials
  • Exterior finish
  • Interior finish (hanging doors, hardware installation, mitering, coping, scribing)
  • Decks and fences
  • Site layout
  • Stair framing and finish
  • All interior finish work at stain grade level
  • Builtin cabinetry

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Direct communication and coordination with the Superintendent
  • Creating basic handwritten schedules providing a two week lookahead
  • Assisting with Building Dept inspections
  • Plan review to deliver RFI questions to the Superintendent
  • Plan reading and layout for Foremen and Subcontractors
  • Developing material takeoffs
  • Ordering or pick up of supplies and materials
  • Checking material deliveries for quality and completeness
  • Completion of Daily Job Reports

Pay:
From $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
