- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years' experience as a Commis Tournant in a high-volume kitchen or a combination of skills and education & experience that provides skills required for this position.
- Fluent in English; efficient verbal & written communication skills
- Experience preparing breakfast/brunch.
- Two year degree course in Culinary Arts or equivalent training.
- Certification from the New York State Department of Health.
- Excellent knife skills (chopping, slicing, dicing, etc. meat, vegetables, fish, fruits).
- Knowledge of sauces and cooking techniques.
- Ability to execute recipes involving all phases.
- Ability to prepare all dishes consistently and according to chef's specifications/ instructions.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to stand for long period of time and withstand high temperature.
- Ability to bend/lift/push/pull/carry around equipment, etc. in excess of 50 lbs.
