As part of TCEQ's Office of Water, you would contribute to ensuring clean and available water and protecting Texas' water resources.

This position is a member of our Water Supply Division's Drinking Water Special Functions Support Section.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience ensuring or overseeing compliance of a regulated entity with state or federal requirements.
  • Experience providing customer service by conveying technical information to a nontechnical audience.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Complete technical work related to implementation of state and federal drinking water regulations for the Drinking Water Special Functions section in the Water Supply Division of the TCEQ.
  • Conduct in office and/or onsite technical review, analyses, quality control and evaluations on routine to moderately complex information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedure; and follows up with appropriate corrective actions.
  • Utilize data by following established business processes, maintain quality control and provide information related to drinking water quality and public water systems.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency's drinking water quality program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to the Public Information Requests (PIRs).
  • Participate in special projects such as serving as an owner of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and working on Section/Division business process improvement projects.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.

A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the qualifications listed above.


One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
