Summary


Penn Medicine - The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our Heart Failure and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) team.

As part of a highly productive cardiology group consisting of 28 Physicians and 27 Nurse Practitioners, our heart failure team offers sub-specialty clinics in the areas of pulmonary hypertension, adult congenital heart disease, cardio-oncology, maternal cardiology and VAD.

With the capabilities to offer a full spectrum of mechanical circulatory support devices, we thrive on innovation and state of the art technology and are proud to serve some of the longest surviving destination therapy patients in the country.

Our group is nationally recognized for the lowest heart failure readmission rates in the country.

Established in 2005 as one of the earliest community hospitals to implant VADs, our program collaborates with three MCD cardio-thoracic surgeons offering all available BTT and DT platforms.

As a forward thinking group, our team participates in over 20 clinical trials, encourages and supports research endeavors.

We collaborate with Penn Medicine's Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology team regularly to improve quality of life and a better life expectancy for heart failure patients.

Our Nurse Practitioners enjoy a collaborative practice with a high degree of autonomy. Nurse Practitioners round on inpatients, participate in consults, and coordinate discharges. Nurse Practitioners see patients in the outpatient heart failure clinic and same day access clinic. Our specialty cardiology teams assist with general cardiology patients care as needed.


Hours:
This position is full time, usual hours hour shifts - 8 shifts in a 2 week period. Occasional weekends and holidays/ off shifts.


Job Requirements

  • Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania
  • Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty required this positions requires Adult/ Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification.
  • Minimum oneyear experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred
