General Summary:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly
  • A passion for both the organization's message/efforts and social media
  • Knowledge of all social media platforms, handson familiarity with each, and an awareness of trending hashtags
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative suite for video editing, both short form and long form, and graphic design for flyers and infographics
  • General knowledge of professional photography and videography principles and equipment
  • Ability to create cuttingedge social media and digital marketing content
  • Adept writing, blogging, and proofreading ability

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities including writing social media captions that inform viewers of our work and the specific event/action while staying brief and positive
  • Visit NYCID sites and locations to record content and interview staff, partners, and participants regularly.
  • Manage presence on social networking sites by posting new content, answering comments, sharing material from important influencers, fans, and customers
  • Communicate with different departments to stay current with organizational news and events.
  • Navigate with DOE staff and NYCID staff to create content in line with brand guidelines
  • Create a schedule when you can contact your influencers and a list of items that you can do to make your partners happy
  • Create and maintain a social media editorial calendar and posting schedule
  • Track results and keep communication channels open to address any issues that may arise in the dynamic social media marketing environment
  • Develop Brand Advocacy by focusing on NYCID's greatest strength, which is belief in its mission
  • Find bloggers, forums, and influencers to work with; build a brand ambassadors' network where all the members feel that their relationship with you is something special
  • Create and upload videos to YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. Find your bestperforming content and create video versions of it
  • Manage blogger and other influencer outreach programs by working with influencers regularly
  • Familiarize and stay attuned to influencer marketing.
  • Continuously learn and understand which different media formats, such as articles, videos, and images, resonate with your target audience
  • Participate in community outreach and advocacy efforts by going to the communities that discuss the issues related to your business, by engaging with active members of the community, and by engaging in conversations and answering questions
  • Monitor traffic by analyzing "likes"/tweets, shares, and comments of posts.
  • Conduct competitor research by looking at their actions on social media to identify ways to improve NYCID's social media strategy
  • Seed content into social networks by putting your content where it can spread; ensure your message will not just be posted on NYCID's social profile but will spread to other people's properties
  • Write editorial content for future blog posts, at least 100 words per day and 1000 words per week.
  • Post and comment on relevant blogs
