    Automation Engineer at Baker Group

    Department: Automation

    FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt

    Reports To: Automation Engineer – Team Leader

    PURPOSE

    Are you passionate about providing technical start-up and programming for Building Automation and Control Systems? Baker Group is looking for an Automation Engineer to join the team and help maintain and enhance the customer experience. Your role is crucial in ensuring the success of both existing and new projects.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with design engineers, operation engineers, and internal staff
    • Start-up Microprocessor based control components
    • Understand construction schedules and manage QA/QC checklists
    • Interpret Sequence of Operations (SOO) and apply to program logic
    • Read and write code for programming
    • Mentor and oversee Automation Technicians
    • Lead medium to large size projects
    • Point-to-point checkout of wiring and components
    • Set up and calibration of input and output devices
    • Upload, download, and modify control software and programs
    • Perform networking tasks
    • Troubleshoot Automation HVAC and Electrical systems
    • Map control points and create system graphics and dashboards

    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Four to Seven years of Automation related field experience
    • Associate degree in Electronic, Technology, or related field

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    • Valid driver's license

    MENTAL AND PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Ability to work unsupervised
    • Knowledge of common Windows Office applications
    • Understanding of network communication protocols
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
    • Work well with team members and project management staff
    • Train and delegate work tasks to lower-level Technicians

    ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

    • Exposure to typical construction and industrial site risks

    EQUIPMENT/TOOLS

    • Laptop PC, Electronic Multimeter, Tools, Software applications, Ladders

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Sitting, Standing, Walking, Bending, Crawling, Climbing, Grasping/Handling, Reaching, Crouching/Squatting, Kneeling, Balancing, Push/Pull

    WEIGHT HANDLING PER HOUR

    • Lifting & Carrying: Various weights
    • Lifting Overhead: Various weights
