Description

The Member Service Representative is responsible for maintaining the front desk while providing exceptional customer service to Club members, families and all people who come through our doors.

Responsibilities also include maintaining data related to the registration of our Club members.

Approximately 33% of time is spent maintaining the front desk area while our young people are in the building and the remaining 67% is spent on administrative duties.


MAJOR DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Be the first person people see and hear from when they come into the Club by serving as the front desk receptionist and phone operator.
  • Manages and maintains all records for Club members using both electronic as well as some "hard copy" records.
  • Maintains office equipment including phones and copier.
  • Deposits all incoming checks through internal scanning device
  • Supports leadership team in maintaining data related to Club members and by completing all specified reports
  • Provides for the safety and health of all Club members, staff, and outside groups through helping to maintain safety protocols, especially check in and check out policies and procedures. Helps to communicate safety policies and procedures to staff, parents, and the community.
  • Manage state of Vermont childcare subsidy process
  • Protects the privacy of all confidential information including member and staff information.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:


  • Effective interpersonal skills (including oral and written communication) particularly with school aged children and families.
  • Ability to handle different tasks, often simultaneously
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience working with a database, and Microsoft and Google products
  • Must be able to pass a background check. Must also be able to become CPR certified
  • At least five years experience as an office manager, or work with data, is desired, but not required
  • Enjoyment of spending time with young people is essential
  • Experience, lived or otherwise, working with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as people who are LGBTQ or "first in family" to attend college

THE JOB:


  • Monday through Friday, 10:00 am 6:00 pm, all hours in person at our main Clubhouse (62 Oak Street in Burlington Vermont)
  • Full time, 40 hours a week

The Boys & Girls Club is a non-profit organization serving kids and youth in the out-of-school hours by providing a safe place, helping to character development and supporting academic success.
