Description
Why Patients Need You

What You Will Achieve

The Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) Biomarkers/Biomeasures team plays a vital role in this mission through the quantification of therapeutic targets utilizing state-of-the-art proteomics techniques.

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow with experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, bioinformatics or machine learning interested in continuing their scientific development in a highly dynamic environment here at Pfizer.

In this role, the Postdoctoral Fellow will generate comprehensive proteome-wide knowledge of protein targets in tissues as proteome maps and will drive forward the development of bioinformatic methods that integrate different proteomics data modalities.

This project is expected to have impact on our approach to target feasibility assessment and will lead to strong publications.

How You Will Achieve It

In your new role, you will leverage advanced mass spectrometry to generate data to combine with bioinformatics approaches.

You will also work on the MS-based proteomics outputs generated from variety of search engines to create a deeper understanding of protein expression in tissue organ-specific data repositories that would accelerate biomeasure assay development.

You will also establish research collaborations, present at conferences, and lead or contribute to publications.

Qualifications:

Must-Have

  • Ph.
D.

in Proteomics, Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Analytical Chemistry or a related field with experience in one or more of the following areas as demonstrated through at least one first-author publication: Computational biology, Bioinformatics, Proteomics, Machine Learning.

  • No more than 2 years of postdegree experience.
  • Willingness to make a minimum 2year commitment.
  • Experience with labelfree quantification, data dependent or independent acquisitions (DDA, DIA) methods
  • Previous experience with large scale proteomics datasets
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python
  • Experience with proteomics search engines and databases
  • Experience with advanced proteomics instruments such as Bruker TimsTOF and/or Thermo Orbitraps
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team with a track record of scientific publications in peerreviewed journals.
Nice-to-Have

  • Deep understanding of biological systems, including pathway regulation, posttranslational modification, molecular and cell biology, etc.
  • Familiarity with how machine learning can be applied to MSderived proteomics data
  • Comfortable learning new API's and tools as needed. Experience working in cloudbased and mixed computing environment using proteomics data.
  • Worked on Multiomics Datasets
